Mouth-Blown in Slovakia

Stemware is as important to the wine experience as proper storage and serving temperature. Experiencing wine through Grassl is akin to experiencing music front row in a hall made for acoustics, versus through a simple speaker - the experiences are radically different despite the music being the same. Mouth-blown from a single origin in Slovakia with superior raw materials, these performance first glasses are also true pieces of art that heighten the entire experience with their featherweight elegance - blurring the line between wine and taster.

Grassl Glass was founded by Alexander Mackh, who resides in Switzerland. Alexander is also the CEO of Austria's Alpine Cellar - serious credentials, indeed.

In only a few years, Grassl has built a presence in fourteen countries and has established a long list of high profile grower converts in Piedmont, Burgundy, and Bordeaux (including Domaine Roulot, and Etienne Sauzet, to name a few).

Grassl stemware was designed for functionality first; each glass optimized for different types of wine. Other producers in the mouth-blown glass segment focus on aesthetics first. Grassl is the first producer to manage functionality first, alongside thin bowls and the featherweight elegance prized by competitor glasses - in short, these glasses are for the true connoisseur.

Material

Stemware is subject to terroir too - the sand used by Grassl is specific to Slovakia and produces 5 lead-free glass that is less porous than that of competitors, leading to a far longer life throughout thousands of wash cycles. Production is in one dedicated location and always will be - ensuring a consistent product with true origin. Furthermore, kiln usage is limited to prevent mineral buildup, which causes discoloration over time. This is a common issue with other high-end stemware.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

It requires 5 artisans to create a mouth-blown glass, with years of apprenticeship required before officially producing Grassl stemware. The team's ability to recreate a unique product with exceptionally similar tolerances and consistency is remarkable. Quality checks are meticulous and only the very best stems will make it into the customer's hands. All glasses that do not pass the inspections are 100% recyclable without a loss in purity and quality.

VAlues

All Grassl Glass designs are based on core principles of functionality and usability. Whilst the Vigneron Series is built on the feedback of the most renown winemakers today, the Elemental Series focuses on the absolute essentials of wine drinking.
