Private wine storage in Los Angeles: choosing the right space

Compare locker sizes, client access, receiving and collection support before choosing private wine storage in Los Angeles.

Private storage lockers at Liquid Assets Cellars

The right storage space fits both your wine and the way you collect. Start with the size of your collection, how often you visit and how much help you want with deliveries and organization. Then compare facilities on those needs, alongside storage conditions and total membership cost.

Start with your collection, not just a bottle count

Count cases as well as individual bottles, and note larger formats, original wooden cases and purchases still to arrive. A locker that fits today may feel tight after the next allocation. Ask how much usable space a locker provides and whether you can move to a larger space as the collection grows.

At LAC in North Hollywood, options range from 12-case lockers to customizable walk-in rooms. A tour is a useful way to see how your collection might fit before choosing a space.

Choose the access that suits your routine

Think about when you usually collect wine: after work, before a weekend dinner or while preparing a shipment. Ask how entry works, who can collect bottles on your behalf and how deliveries are handled.

LAC clients have 24/7 access with monitored controlled entry. Non-client visits and tours are by appointment only, 8am–5pm. Receiving arrangements are handled with the team before a shipment is sent.

Look beyond a thermostat reading

Ask about the facility’s temperature and humidity targets, how conditions are monitored and who responds when equipment needs attention. LAC aims for 55°F and humidity of 50% or higher. Conditions can vary during maintenance or equipment service; understanding how the facility manages those events is part of choosing storage.

During a tour, look at the actual storage area and ask how your cases will be placed, identified and accessed. Bring questions about unusual bottle sizes or packaging.

Decide how much support you want

Some collectors want a private locker and convenient access. Others want help receiving shipments, keeping inventory current or preparing a move. Ask which services are included in membership and which are arranged separately.

LAC offers receiving and inspection, along with collection management for inventory, bottle tagging and practical collection care. The member experience also includes lounge and tasting areas. Our team can explain the options for your collection.

Compare the complete cost

Compare the size and terms of the space, membership charges and any handling or collection services you expect to use. Ask about the process for changing spaces, arranging temporary storage and ending an agreement. A useful comparison reflects the way you will actually use the facility.
